Police look to ID smoke shop armed robbers

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Police are trying to identify two men who robbed a smoke shop at gunpoint Wednesday evening.

The Baton Rouge Police Department reported the armed robbery happened at the Smoking Tee Pee on South Sherwood Forest Boulevard around 8 p.m.

Cpl. Don Coppola Jr. said the suspects walked in carrying handguns, went to the worker at the front counter and demanded money and merchandise. He added the employee gave the men what they wanted and the suspects left.

One suspect is described as a black man between 20 and 25 years old. He is about 5'7" and weighs about 150 pounds. He was wearing a black hooded jacket with white trim and black gloves.

The second suspect is also described as a black man between 20 and 25 years old. He is about 5'7" and weighs about 220 pounds. He was wearing a dark hooded shirt and covered his face. He also had on gloves.

Anyone with information about the armed robbery is encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at 344-7867.
