Indiana mother shocked to find she was pregnant after giving birth

GREENCASTLE, IN (WRTV) -

Surprise! It's a boy. No really, it's a surprise.

An Indiana woman went to the emergency room with sharp abdominal pains. She thought she needed an appendectomy. Instead, she ended up given birth to a son on Friday.

This all happened after she worked a full eight hour shift at an assembly plant on her feet.

She says her body never showed signs of pregnancy. And you wonder about the typical weight gain involved in carrying child around for nine months. Well, she thought it was normal for her.

"I never showed. I had weight gain. I was very shocked," said mother Mandy Bachelor.

Needless to say, this mother and father of three got a big surprise. Their son weighed just over seven pounds.

"They thought maybe she had gallstones. She said, 'We'll take her back,' and then a few minutes later her water burst everywhere," said father Josh Cox

They gave their surprise baby boy a family name.

"General Lee is my mom's grandpa and then Jacob was my dad's grandpa. So both my great-grandpas, I just put them together, plus I have a General Lee car, so it just worked all out," said Cox.

They are thankful to friends and family who rushed out to purchase things a baby would need while they were still in the hospital. They gave all their baby furniture away in December because they "thought" they were done with having babies.
