Accused murderer charged in court

Posted: Updated:
JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Accused murderer Dequan Rose appeared before Judge Houston Patton today.

He's charged with the December 22, 2012 killing of Timothy Collins, 38, who was shot multiple times in the parking lot of Berwood Apartments on Forest Avenue. The case will now be turned over to a grand jury.

We are told that Rose was given a 75-thousand dollar bond.

In February 2003, Rose pled guilty to armed robbery of the Southhill Package Store on Terry Road in South Jackson. He and another suspect allegedly held the cashier at gunpoint and demanded the money from the register.

Rose was sentenced to 15 years.
