Crimestoppers offering reward for information on Port Royal homicide

Posted: Updated:
PORT ROYAL, SC (WTOC) -

Crimestoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for any information about the death of a Port Royal business owner more than a month ago.

Investigators said the trail is turning cold.

Police said they are continuing to follow up on any leads that come in but so far, they have not made any arrests.

It's been more than a month since Port Royal police found AN Beauty Supply Store owner Aboulhassan Aboulhassan bleeding behind the cash register on Jan. 20.

In a quiet town like Port Royal, they say it's uncommon for a case like this to remain unresolved.

"We just still know there's al little bit more of information out there that can confirm what we've already found," said Port Royal Detective Andre Massey.

Police would not go into detail about what they've found. They only say they're moving in the right direction, but they need the community's help.

"Anyone that was in the parking lot during the hours of 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on the 20 of January, if they saw anybody or anything, no matter how minor it may be, please give us a call and if they don't want to talk to us, please call Crimestoppers and let them know," said Massey.

Aboulhassan was taken to Beaufort Memorial Hospital and then to MUSC where he later died from his injuries.

Autopsy results showed the cause of death was blunt force trauma.

"We're trying to give closure to this family that lost a loved one and it's really important that we get that information," he added.

If you have any information about this case, please contact the Port Royal Police Department.
