Portion of E President St back open after crash

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Rescue crews responded to a two-car crash on President Street Wednesday morning.

It happened around 8 a.m. on E President at Capital streets. Officials say two people, one from each vehicle, suffered minor injuries. 

President St headed out to the islands at Capital St was shut down for about an hour. Police were re-routing traffic headed out to Tybee onto Capital to get around the crash.

Both of the eastbound lanes reopened to traffic around 8:50 a.m.

There is still no word on what caused the crash.
