Tuesday night high school South State playoff basketball results

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

The Gulfport Admirals took care of business Tuesday night with a convincing 68 to 44 win over arch rival Biloxi to advance to the Class 6A South State Tournament at Meridian.  Jahshire Hardnett led the Admirals with 25 points.  Gulfport will face home standing Meridian Friday night.

The St. Martin Yellow Jackets cruised to a 75-53 win over Hattiesburg at St. Martin.  The Yellow Jackets face Jackson Provine at the Class 6A South State Tournament Friday night in Meridian.

On the girls side, Hattiesburg eliminated the St. Martin Lady 'Jackets 58-50.

Class 5A South State elimination games watched West Harrison and Pascagoula advance to the South State Tournament at Laurel.  West Harrison jumped out to a big lead early before Gautier rallied and hung tough before the home standing Hurricanes posted a 47-44 victory.  West Harrison will take on home standing Laurel Friday night.

The Pascagoula Panthers continued their winning ways crushing Picayune 74-39. 

In the Class 5A South State girls elimination games Pascagoula and West Harrison both advanced to Friday's South State Tournament at Natchez.

West Harrison beat Gautier 49-30 and will battle South Jones Friday night.  The Pascagoula Lady Panthers defeated Picayune 65-29.  That's was the 13th straight victory for the Lady Panthers who meet home standing Natchez Friday night.

Moss Point took care of business Tuesday night advancing to the Class 4A South State Tournament Friday night at McComb.  The Tigers defeated North Pike 84-42.  Devin Booker led Moss Point with 30 points.  The Tigers will take on Florence in the first-round of the South State Tournament Friday night at 8:30.

St. Stanislaus lost a heartbreaker to South Pike 60 to 59 in the Bay as the Rockachaws season comes to an end.  Pass Christian traveled to Lawrence County and also lost a close confrontation to the home team, 62-59.  The Bay High Tigers had a tough road game at McComb and the Tigers couldn't overcome the height of McComb losing 65-43.
