Perkinston man and woman killed in Hwy 67 accident

HARRISON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) -

Two people died and another person had to be airlifted to a hospital in Mobile after an accident on Highway 67 near Tradition Tuesday afternoon.

Police tell us a truck driven by Susan Whittington, 59, of Perkinston, tried to cross the highway, but collided with a commercial delivery truck. Ricky Wayne Junkins, 24, also of Perkinston, was the passenger in the truck driven by Whittington. Junkins and Whittington were both killed in the accident.

A third person was airlifted to Mobile.

The driver of the commercial vehicle was taken to Garden Park Hospital with injuries that weren't considered life threatening.
