BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Defending 4A State Champion Bay High cruised under the win column with a convincing 82-30 victory over Lawrence County inside the Tiger Dome.
All-American Christa Reed netted 22 points, one of four Lady Tigers to score in double digits.
Breanna Smith bagged 18 points helping Bay High jump out to an 11-0 lead before Lawrence County scored a point.
Jamaya Galloway added 12 points and the Lady Tigers led 24 to 8 after the first period.
Aerion Dority drilled 11 points as coach Debbie Triplett's Bay High Lady Tigers picked up win number 27 against 3 losses.
Bay High advances to the 4A South State Tournament in Raymond Thursday night.
The Pass Christian Lady Pirates took care of business on the home court Tuesday. Coach Greta Ainsworth's Lady Pirates popped McComb 51-32 to advance to Raymond. Aliyah Bell led Pass Christian with 22 points.
Moss Point's season came to an end. The Lady Tigers dropped a 64-61 decision to North Pike on the road. Sheila Smith coached her last basketball game at Moss Point. She has decided to retire.
Poplarville faced a tough challenge on the road and the Lady Hornets were no match for South Pike. Lady Hornets lost 59-29.
In the 6A South State playoffs Harrison Central coasted under the win column taking out Biloxi 65-36. Junior standout Jazzmun Holmes led the Red Rebelettes with 18 points.
The girls continue first-round playoff action tomorrow night at 6.
