(WMC-TV) – A brand new exhibit opened at Graceland, giving visitors and up close and personal view of The King and his lifetime of music.

The exhibit is called "60 Years of Elvis."

Remember Elvis' rocking performance in the movie Jailhouse Rock? Well, his personal script from that 1957 movie is one of the special things on display at the exhibit.

"And it's part of a yearlong celebration celebrating Elvis' very first recording at Sun Studio 60 years ago," explained Graceland's Director of Archives Angie Marchese.

The exhibit is located on the north end of the mansion.

Take a VIP level tour and you will see Elvis' first contract with RCA records and the last jumpsuit he wore in Memphis. You will even get to see interviews with everyone from Lisa Marie, to Beyonce, all talking about the impact Elvis Presley had on their lives.

The Grammy Elvis won in 1974 for his gospel hit "How Great Thou Art" is also on display, as well as the first telegram Elvis sent to his parents in 1954, telling them that he was now making enough to send them money.

"It really says, it goes, "Hi Babies, here's the money to pay the bills. Don't tell anyone, don't tell anyone how much I sent ... So, we don't know how much he sent," Marchese said.

The exhibit, which will run all year long as part of Graceland's VIP tour experience, goes on to highlight Elvis' musical legacy, showing fans The King is as relevant today as he was 60 years ago.

When the WLOX First Alert Weather Team issues an Alert Day for South Mississippi, it is because we believe the  weather will impact your day. The current Alert Day is because of the high rainfall totals we have seen with the potential for more rain. In fact, a Flash Flood Watch is in effect through Tuesday evening.
