Statesboro 2nd Annual Chocolate Run 5K

STATESBORO, GA (WTOC) -

A sweet way to work up a sweat and help the community on Saturday in Statesboro: The Second Annual Chocolate Run 5K.

More than 500 runners turned out for the race, which generated $25,000 to help build the Open Hearts Community Mission. The mission's organizer says she is thrilled at the level of support.

"I was in the golf cart aheard of the runners, and looking back all I could see was a sea of community folks, and we even had people come in from out of town," said Delia Mobley, Pen Hearts Community Mission.

Our Bureau Chief, Dal Cannady was there recording the race. He served as the emcee and starter.
