Sue Richardson Remembered

RIDGELAND, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

New details have emerged about the life of Ridgeland murder victim, Sue Richardson, and her relationship with the man accused of beating her to death.

Beverly Smith, who attended First Baptist Church of Ridgeland with Sue Richardson, say's Sue had dedicated her life to church, and her children, especially her son Michael that she adopted when he was two years old.

Michael was arrested Thursday and charged with murder in the beating death of Sue Richardson.

"She loved Barbie and Michael both very much," said Smith. "She was a very care-taking type person. She took care of a lot of people in the area."

Sue Richardson had a successful career as a nurse and was well known as Aunt Sue, for her caring nature. Those close to the family say she did everything she could to help Michael overcome his struggles with mental illness.

"He was always welcome there, she would never turn her back on him," added Smith. "She tried to get him help but she was that caring type of person who wanted to help him and make sure he was ok."

Funeral arrangements for Sue Richardson have now been set. Visitation will be held Monday from 5-7 p.m. At Wright and Ferguson on Highland Colony Parkway. The funeral will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Ridgeland, at 302 West Jackson street.
