SOUTH MISSISSIPPI (WLOX) - Mississippi school districts will have to make up their "snow days." Friday morning, the state Board of Education voted not to grant waivers to districts that asked for them. Their schools shut down for several days late last month due to the wintry sleet and icy road conditions.
An MDE spokeswoman says the board has granted waivers in the past, but only for schools that missed "excessive number of days due to severe weather."
Most South Mississippi school districts have already scheduled their three make-up days.
