Head coach Nancy Ladner is feeling more confidence following Harrison Central's 39-27 win over arch-rival Gulfport Tuesday night in the Division 7-6A semifinals.
Ladner her 17 and 10 Red Rebelettes didn't fold in the final period.
Ladner said,"They've really grown in the last five or six games and the one thing that we did last night that we haven't done in the past is we were able to finish."
There's another Ladner helping coach the Red Rebelettes this season, Renee, the former Ole Miss head coach who also coached at St. John and Harrison Central before jumping into the college coaching ranks.
"Every dream that I ever had started on this floor," stated Renee Ladner. "And I have been able to live through a lot of that because of players, the support and the people that I've had around me. It's been wonderful."@
Jazzmun Holmes runs the Red Rebelettes attack. The junior is netting 20 points and 6 rebounds and 5 steals per game.
She says Harrison Central is ready for the Lady Tigers.
Holmes said,"Our defense and our ability to come off the bench with everyone and our quickness."
Senior Shaneice Cooper gives the Red Rebelettes another offensive weapon with 11 points an outing along with 6 rebounds. She says they are finally getting down to business.
"We had a hard time at first getting everybody to understand what to do but now everyone has come together as a team and we're helping everybody so I feel like we have a good chance.
