BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

There's a new development in the federal corruption case connected to the Department of Marine Resources. Scott Walker has notified the federal court that he will change his 'not guilty' plea in two federal cases filed against him.

Scott Walker is the son of fired DMR director Bill Walker. The two were named in a multicount federal indictment in November, along with two DMR employees.

Walker's attorney filed papers Tuesday saying Walker will plead guilty to one count of conspiracy to defraud the federal government. Walker has also agreed to plead guilty to another count of conspiracy to defraud the government in a separate case related to a payment from the city of D'Iberville to Walker's consulting firm.

Last week, former D'Iberville City Manager Michael Janus reached a deal with federal prosecutors and pleaded guilty to one count of fraud in that case.

The three others named in the DMR fraud case have all pleaded 'not guilty' and are scheduled for trial later this year.
