Posted: Updated:
AKRON, OH (WOIO) -

Police are investigating two robberies that appear to have been committed by the same suspect.

The first robbery occurred around 8:00 p.m. Thursday in the 100 block of Brittain Road in Akron.

The victim, a 62-year-old male, reported the suspect approached his car and asked for a ride to the hospital.  The victim let the suspect into his car.

As the victim was driving towards the hospital, near the intersection of East Market Street and Case Avenue, the suspect pulled out a handgun and demanded the victim's wallet, money and driver's license.

The suspect finally got out of the victim's car near the intersection of Newton Street and Pioneer Street.

The second robbery occurred shortly before 3:00 Friday morning at the intersection of East Market Street and North Seiberling Street in Akron.

The victim, a 28-year-old male, reported he was approached by the suspect in the gas station parking lot and asked for a ride.

When the victim refused, the suspect pulled out a handgun and told the victim to get into the car.  The suspect forced the victim to drive to the area of North Seiberling and Ruckel Road, where the suspect demanded the victim's money and driver's license.

The suspect fled on foot.

The suspect is described as a fair to light complexioned, white male, 19 - 25 years old, 5'09" - 6'0", 150 - 170 lbs., brown hair, slight facial hair, wearing a yellow or brown baggy sweatshirt with yellow writing on it, baggy blue jeans and white shoes.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Akron Police.
