Kid Rock, Ludacris to headline Gulfport Music Fest

GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) -

Kid Rock, Ludacris, and Sublime with Rome are among the headliners for this year's Gulfport Music Festival, May 9-10 at Jones Park. The much anticipated music festival lineup was announced Friday morning.

Among the other acts performing:

Cypress Hill
Violent Femmes
Third Eye Blind
Ying Yang Twins
The Pretty Reckless
Reverend Horton Heat
Longreef
Sir Mix A Lot
Rosco Bandana
Hyphee

Organizers are promising yet another major headliner will be announced soon.

No single day tickets will be sold. A general admission weekend pass will allow unlimited entry and re-entry before 6pm each day; No re-entry after 6pm. Early Bird passes sell for $75, plus tax and fees.

The VIP weekend passes are $279, plus tax and fees. VIP admission will include unlimited entry and re-entry to the festival at any time, admission to the VIP viewing area near the stage, free food, soft drinks, and domestic beer in the VIP Tent and use of air-conditioned restroom facilities, as well as a commemorative Gulfport Music Festival T-shirt.

Tickets go on sale February 21.

    Gulfport's Mayor and Chief Administrator say Fire Chief Michael Beyerstedt has their full confidence, and they've closed the book on an altercation two months ago between the chief and a firefighter. Now, a recently retired firefighter who says he witnessed the altercation has come forward not only to share his perspective of the incident but also on what he calls a serious need to hire more firefighters.
