West Harrison clips St. Martin 67-64 on last second bucket

HARRISON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - West Harrison head coach Doug Bazzell can rely on any number of players during a basketball game.  On this night reliable and talented Maurice Stephens came through with the game on the line.  Stephens drilled a trey with 1.5 seconds left in regulation to propel the Hurricanes (21-2) past St. Martin (19-8) 67-64.

Stephens and Harvey Smart each netted 19 points for West Harrison.

Ed Simpson, who signed with Middle Tennessee, led the Yellow Jackets with 22 points and helped give St. Martin a second half lead before the Hurricanes stormed back.

Jamond Franklin added 15 points and Rodrick Sikes scored 14 points for the Yellow Jackets.

West Harrison, the Division 8-5A Champs, will be the site of the division tournament and St. Martin, the Division 8-6A Champs, will host the division tournament next Tuesday.
