Police charge 25 teens after Hendersonville house party

HENDERSONVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

More than two dozen teenagers are facing criminal charges after police raided an underage drinking party last weekend.

Hendersonville police said the teens broke into the house on Cherokee Road while its owners were away. Apparently, one teen told his friends the house would be empty and told them where to find a hidden key.

When Hendersonville police responded to a burglary call at the residence early Saturday morning, they instead broke up the underage party.

Police say two of the 25 teens at the home had so much to drink officers ended up calling in ambulances.

"There were two juveniles, I understand, transported to Hendersonville Medical Center for treatment for alcohol exposure," said Hendersonville Police Sgt. Denney Coarsey. "The one I saw was very intoxicated."

Two of those arrested are 18 years old, so, legally, police can release their names. One of them is William Marlin and the other is Song Kim.

Police say there were 11 teens aged 17 years old, 10 who were 16 years old and two 15-year-old children.

Now, some of the teens are actually tweeting thanks to the police for possibly saving their lives.

One of the underage teens tweeted, "I actually want to thank the boys in blue for showing up last night. If they wouldn't have, I don't think I would have woke up this morning."

Another teen tweeted, "I have to be grateful. Thank God we're alright."

Police say the house belongs to the grandmother of one teen who told his friends where to find a hidden key. But the grandson wasn't even at the party. He was home, grounded.

The teens tried not to draw attention to the party, so they didn't park in front of the house. Instead, they parked down the street. Still, a neighbor saw the lights go on.

The neighbor knew no one was supposed to be home, so they called the police.

Of the 25 teens involved, 17 are charged with criminal trespassing, and eight are charged with underage drinking.
