25-year-old killed in Gulfport night club shooting

GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) -

Harrison County Deputy Coroner Charles Wise confirms the man shot and killed at Club Illusions II in Gulfport early Sunday morning is 25-year-old Jeremiah Harper of Gulfport.

Just before 4:30 Sunday morning, Gulfport police responded to a call about a shooting at Club Illusions II located on 34th Street. Upon arrival, officers learned that a verbal altercation took place between Harper and the suspect.

Harper and the suspect then left the business toward the parking area. At that time, the altercation led to Harper being shot in the chest area.

The suspect later left in an unknown vehicle. Harper was transported to an area hospital for treatment, but soon died as a result of his injury.

This investigation is ongoing. Anyone with any information is urged to contact the Gulfport Police Department at (228)868-5959.
