Four FL men in jail after using cash advance scheme at casino

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

Four Tampa, FL men are in jail after allegedly using counterfeit credit cards and fake Florida identification cards to get several thousand dollars from cash advance in a Biloxi casino.

Biloxi police said the report of felony false pretense came from the Hard Rock Casino shortly after 11 a.m. Saturday.

Investigator Steve Schlicht said after becoming suspicious of being discovered at the teller counter Ricardo Martinez, 34, Pedro Moreno-Perez, 28, William Lienz-Machado, 30, and Jose Lopez-Arca, 37, left the casino in a car. Responding officers stopped the vehicle on Interstate-110 with any incident.

Schlicht said investigators found several false identification and credit cards along with $7,000 in cash. The investigation discovered that the men had been to the casino before and received cash using the same scheme.

Schlicht said each man was charged with felony false pretense and given a bond of $100,000.

The investigation is ongoing.
