Woman still in critical condition after Saucier accident

SAUCIER, MS (WLOX) -

An Saturday early morning accident in Saucier left one person dead, and two others seriously injured. Mississippi Highway Patrol tells WLOX News that the accident happened just after 1:30 a.m. 

Officials said a car, driven by 23-year-old Elania Skinner of Gulfport, was traveling southbound in the northbound lane of Highway 49 and collided with an oncoming vehicle occupied by Jennifer Staple and Brianna Medina . The accident happened in front of the Bucket Bar and Friendly Pawn.

Harrison County Deputy Coroner Brian Switzer confirms that Skinner was killed in the crash. Officials tell us she was wearing her seat belt at the time of the accident.

Mississippi Highway Patrol Lieutenant Johnny Polous said Staple and Medina were transported to Memorial hospital.

Staple has since been released from the hospital. Medina remains in the hospital in critical condition.
