GAUTIER, MS (WLOX) -

According to District Attorney Tony Lawrence, 47-year-old Robert Brian Hill of Gautier pleaded guilty Friday to three counts of sexual battery and one count of touching of a child for lustful purposes.

Hill, a former Gautier police officer, was indicted for having sex with and inappropriately touching a minor who was under the age of 14. Officials said Hill abused the 13-year-old victim several times in Gautier.

Judge Robert Krebs deferred sentencing to March 27. He has ordered a pre-sentence investigation be conducted.

Hill is a 13 year law enforcement veteran and had been with the Gautier Police Department for three years at the time of his arrest. Information was brought forward on July 17, 2011 that alleged Hill may have been involved in conduct unbecoming of an officer and an internal investigation was opened.

Hill was arrested in September of 2011 and charged with three counts of sexual battery and 12 counts of touching a child for lustful purposes by a person in position of trust.
