JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Ole Miss Police has confirmed, on their Facebook page, that Byron Magee has been "apprehended by authorities."

He is in the custody of the Hinds County Sheriff's office, and is being questioned by JPD.

Yesterday, Jackson Police obtained a warrant for Byron MaGee for armed robbery of a business and armed robbery of an individual.

Police were able to track Magee, who is an Ole Miss student, from surveillance video.

Investigators say MaGee went into the Kangaroo Convenience Store on Old Canton Road around seven Wednesday morning. When he tried to make a purchase, his card was declined, so he left.

A few minutes later, he allegedly went into the story a second time carrying a shotgun. No shots were fired, but the man did leave the store with an unknown amount of cash.

He also took a cell phone from a cashier.

Earlier Thursday, The University Police Department at Ole Miss issued an alert on Magee, saying he may be back in the Oxford area.

No word yet how or where Magee was found.
