BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

The man captured in Jackson County after a high speed pursuit last month has now been charged with murder.

Michael "Pretty Boy Floyd" Wilson of Biloxi, 43, is accused of killing Carmen Dale Edwards. On January 2nd, Edwards was found dead inside his apartment at Maison D'Orleans. Wilson was immediately identified as a person of interest in the case, and the search began to find him.

Six days later, Wilson was apprehended at the intersection of Highway 90 and Highway 57. A law enforcement K-9 helped bring him down, and Wilson was treated at a local hospital for his injuries. Since then, he's been held at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center without bond on a probation violation. Investigators were also waiting on the crime lab analysis of physical evidence collected during the murder investigation.

Officials also revealed that Wilson has been involved in several additional violent crimes since his December 18, 2013 release from jail. Since his arrest, Wilson has pleaded guilty to prior unrelated charges in Circuit Court, for which he was sentenced to serve 17 years day for day.

The murder investigation is ongoing and anyone with more information is asked to contact the Biloxi Police Department at (228) 392-0641, the Criminal Investigations Division at (228) 435-6112, or Crime Stoppers at 1-877-787-5898.
