Latest on the boys & girls South State Soccer playoffs

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

Gulfport High School Athletic Director Bryan Caldwell decided to move up the Brandon at Gulfport 6A Girls South State title game to 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday instead of six.

Due to rainy weather slated for Tuesday evening Caldwell thought it would be best to try and beat the rain by playing the game two hours earlier.

At 9:30 Tuesday night I received a call from Bay High Athletic Director Will Seymour and he has moved the 4A Boys South State title game to 5:00 p.m. instead of 6:00 p.m. Tuesday.  St. Stanislaus travels to Bay High and the two rivals will meet for the third time this season.  Bay High beat the Rockachaws by 1 goal in each of the two previous confrontations.  Seymour said they could move the game up to 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday but that will be decided later.

St. Stanislaus is located close to Bay High Stadium it wouldn't be that much of an adjustment for the Rockachaws to travel an hour earlier to meet the Tigers in the soccer showdown.

Our Lady Academy is slated to travel to Hattiesburg at 6 Tuesday facing Sacred Heart in a 1-2A-3A South State title game.  The game also is subject to change depending on the weather.

Two games have already been moved to Wednesday.  St. Patrick will entertain St. Andrews at 5:00 p.m. in the 1A-2A-3A Boys South State championship game.  Head coach Mario Camps thought it would be best to hold off one day and play the game under better weather conditions.

Pascagoula Athletic Director Greg Freeman contacted WLOX Monday afternoon to inform us that the Pearl-Pascagoula 5A Boys South State title game will be played Wednesday night at 6.
