TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Authorities ask for the public's help in locating a man police said tried to kidnap and assault a woman near Country Club and Broadway earlier this week.

Tucson Police said the suspect first made inappropriate comments to a woman while she was working out on the Reid Park exercise path Tuesday.

She ignored him and later walked toward her vehicle when she saw the same man riding a black BMX-style bicycle and made comments on her appearance. She tried to walk around him, but he grabbed her shoulder, pulled her down the side of a drainage ditch and tried to pull her into the drainage tunnel, according to a news release.

She was able to escape and reportedly had scratches on her face, neck and arms.

Police were unable to locate the suspect. They described him as white, in his 30s, about 6-feet tall and weighs between 160 and 170 pounds. He had red, unkempt hair and freckles.

Anyone with information on the suspect is urged to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
