When the winter storm of 2014 hit the Gulf Coast last week, most people heeded the warnings, went home, and stayed safe. As you remember this unusual ice, snow and cold event, we would suggest you also remember the people who could not go home because it was their job to help keep us all safe.
They are the local and state police, fire and other public safety workers, along with the public works staff. Just like when we faced tropical weather emergencies, these public servants stepped up in the bone chilling weather.
To our public servants thanks for doing what you do, to keep us safe.
That's our opinion, we would like to hear yours. Email your thoughts to firstname.lastname@example.org.
