BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

Drivers are making their way back on to South Mississippi roads, and that's causing some major traffic delays, especially in Biloxi. All on ramps of the I-110 reopened around 9:30am, and the roadway quickly became jammed.

Traffic is also backed up on Pass Road, Highway 90 and White Avenue as Keesler employees wait in traffic trying to get on to the Air Force Base. Employees were told to report at 10am, and all IDs are being checked at the gates.

Keesler has 4,000 civilian employees, 8,000 military, though some are students who live on base. There are also thousands of military retirees who visit the base each day to go to the medical center and the commissary.

Adding to the congestion is limited access into town because the Biloxi-Ocean Springs Bridge is still closed. That means anyone from the east had to travel down I-110 to Hwy 90, then White Avenue.

The Pass Road entrance had an added problem due to railroad crossing work taking place right now.

Road crews are also cleaning bridges and roadways across South Mississippi, so no matter where you're going today, allow yourself some extra time.
