SOUTH MISSISSIPPI (WLOX) -

The Biloxi-Ocean Springs Bridge, the last of the coast's major bridges closed by ice, is now open once again. The Bay St. Louis Bridge, the Wilkes Bridge in Gulfport, the Popp's Ferry Bridge in Biloxi, and the Fort Bayou Bridge in Ocean Springs had also reopened to traffic by noon.

There are still a few smaller bridges closed, including the Corso Bridge in D'Iberville and the David LaRosa bridge near Pass Christian. Since those have smaller traffic counts, crews were getting to those last.

Hancock County leaders say most of their roads are in good shape.  Pearl River County's EMA director said the same thing.  Roads near Picayune and Poplarville have little or no ice on them.

As Ja-Naya Thompson's short life was celebrated, there were a lot of tears and hugs as hundreds of people paid their respects during the visitation and the funeral service. People told me they went to Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church for two reasons, to mourn the loss of five year old Ja-Naya and to show support to the parents who must now face life without their beloved child.More >>
