JPD honors Bert Case

Posted: Updated:
JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Jackson Police Department honored WLBT's very own Bert Case on Thursday afternoon for his outstanding service and deeds to the community and the City of Jackson Police Department.

JPD honored him as he prepares for retirement after a career in journalism that has lasted over half a century and over 3 decades of reporting and anchoring news with WLBT.

In a room full of law enforcement officials, community members, and those who just simply love Bert, the man of the hour was presented a plaque by Police Chief Lindsey Horton and Assistant Chief Lee Vance, and was honored with a standing ovation.

Bert was also presented with a JPD blanket.

After receiving his gifts, Bert thanked and addressed the crowd that came to show their support for this special honor.
