BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

Last October, the Biloxi Police Department contacted the office of State Auditor Stacey Pickering when suspicions of possible embezzlement arose.

The investigation came to fruition Wednesday when Brian Gregory, Assistant Manager at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum & Convention Center Ticket Office was arrested after allegedly embezzling $32,000 from ATM machines owned by the state.

Officials said Gregory, 33, knew combinations and passwords and had keys to the ATM's.

Pickering said the cooperation of his agency and the Biloxi Police Department made it possible to protect the dollars of the tax payers of Mississippi.

"This investigation is another example of agencies working together to protect the taxpayers of Mississippi," said Pickering.

"I appreciate the hard work of both our Special Agents along with investigators at the Biloxi Police Department."

Gregory was released from the Harrison County Adult Detention Center after posting a $30,000 bond.
