CrimeStoppers expanding into Tallapoosa Co.

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Officials with the Central Alabama CrimeStoppers held their annual meeting Wednesday where they recognized deserving police officers and offered some exciting news of expansion.

CrimeStoppers is now moving into Tallapoosa County through a partnership with the county sheriff's department. Now, officials will release videos and pictures of wanted suspects from that area in hopes of tips leading to arrests.

Organizers say the location is perfect considering their efforts in the River Region.

In addition to Tallapoosa County, the crime fighting organization is joining forces with Alabama State University Communications Department in an effort to expand more into community involvement, social media, reenactments and video podcasts.

So, the political stumping is not nearly as significant as it can be. Yet, this Wednesday and Thursday, people will gather under the pavilion at Founders Square and listen to a series of speeches from Mississippi’s elected leaders.
