Hollywood Casino's Lazy River to be ready for summer

BAY ST. LOUIS, MS (WLOX) -

Hollywood Casino in Bay St. Louis will soon have a new poolside attraction - a Lazy River. It will be more than 350 feet long and travel time around the river will be five to seven minutes long.

The Lazy River will include a walk-in entry pool, a swim-up bar, and center sun deck with hot tub. Best of all, it should be ready to open by late spring.

"We are excited about our new amenity," said Chett Harrison, General Manager of Hollywood Casino Bay St. Louis. "With our newly renovated hotel, updated casino, Arnold Palmer signature golf course, a Top 100 Good Sam RV Park and now a Lazy River, we are well-positioned for long-term success and a strong tourism partner for the Mississippi Gulf Coast."

The Lazy River is expected to be completed and open by late spring 2014. Hotel guests will have access to pool at no additional charge. RV Park guests will be allowed use with a nominal charge. There will be a limited number of armbands available per room or reservation.

    A new lawsuit filed in the aftermath of the tragedy on the tracks near downtown Biloxi claims the driver of the bus stuck on the tracks "was an inadequately trained, unlicensed, incompetent or reckless." That suit was filed in Houston, Texas on behalf of Mary Hall, one of the injured passengers on the charter bus that got smashed by a CSX train. It asks a court to award Hall a minimum of $25 million in actual damages.
