One year remembrance ceremony to be held in Dale County

DALE CO., AL, (WSFA) -

Citizens in Dale County are coming together for a special remembrance ceremony for the one year anniversary of the tragic bunker hostage situation, in which a school bus driver was killed and a young boy taken hostage.

The Dale County Schools along with Dale County Sheriffs Office, Dale-Geneva District Attorney's Office and the FBI are sponsoring the event which is being held Wednesday, January 29 at Dale County High School beginning at 6 p.m.

The event will highlight how the community came together during the events that took place, and special Recognition will be given to those individuals, groups, and organizations that sacrificed during this tragic time.

The public is invited and encouraged to attend this event.
