Job fairs aim to get people back in the work force

SOUTH MISSISSIPPI (WLOX) -

Despite the falling unemployment rate nationwide, many in Mississippi are still looking for jobs. According to the United States Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics, Mississippi ranks 45 with 8.3 percent of the state's population being unemployed.

There is good news for South Mississippians looking for jobs. In the coming months several job fairs will be held in the region aimed at getting people back in the work force.

Here is a list of the dates, locations and times for the job fairs that span through the beginning of March.

-Bay St. Louis

Saturday, January 25 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at 256 Sycamore Street.

-Wiggins

Saturday, February 8 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the First Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church located at 1114 Rayburn Drive.

-Columbia

Saturday, February 22 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at John the Baptist Missionary Baptist Church located at 500 Lumberton Road.

-Moss Point

Saturday, March 8 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at New Faith Missionary Baptist Church located at 4624 Meridian Street.
