Kicking On Some New Grass

The City of Gulfport has a new soccer field. It's the new Hancock Avenue Soccer Complex and it was funded by the Harrison County Board of Supervisors, the City of Gulfport and the Gulfport School District. Students from Gulfport High and Harrison Central High along with the South Mississippi Soccer Association will practice and play at the facility, which is lighted for night play.

George Decoux is the director of Gulfport Leisure Services and he says, "it's a great day when three groups can get together to fund projects that will benefit the kids in our area."

After the field was dedicated, a group of kids inaugurated the new field with a scrimmage game.
