D'IBERVILLE, MS (WLOX) -

Cook's Gun Shop in D'Iberville was not the only place guns were stolen from Friday evening. Federal investigators are now saying Highway 90 Pawn and Gun Shop in Gautier was also burglarized. The store in Gautier was hit around 6pm and then the gun shop in D'Iberville around 8:30.

More than a dozen handguns were stolen from the stores. In surveillance video from Cook's Gun Shop you can see the suspect ram the front door with his truck, run inside, bust several display cases and run off with 9 handguns. He was only inside the store for about 35 seconds.

"We consider this a violent crime, we had several guns stolen," D'Iberville Police Chief Wayne Payne said. "We had another city east of us that had guns stolen also so anytime guns are on the streets we are concerned, we are concerned for our citizens and we are concerned for our aw enforcement officers."

That is why federal agents with Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, or ATF, are on the case too.

ATF Resident Agent in Charge Joel Lee said, "We are very concerned about the number of guns that can potentially fall into the hands of the criminal element"

Investigators have followed every lead they have received, but officers admit it is going to take more help from the public to solve this crime.

"Whether it may be important or not, you might have been riding by the store that night and saw what happened and didn't think anything about it, but if you did do that please we would like to talk to you," Payne said.

Investigators said the suspect was driving a blue four door Nissan Titan with a four by four sticker on the passenger side.

Lee said, "We need the publics help to help us solve this case, we need this case solved in the worst way."
