Gun rights rally held on steps of Alabama Capitol Sunday

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Thousands of people gathered across the country Sunday in support of the Second Amendment. One group of gun rights supporters came together on the steps of the Alabama Capitol in Montgomery.

Organizers said the goal of the nationwide rally was to display the faces of law abiding citizens who value the constitution of the United State and the safeguards provided by the second amendment.

They also add it's more than just about the rights of gun owners but about the freedom and rights established by the constitution.

Many in attendance said they hope national leaders will take note of the rally.
