HINDS COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
On Dec 21St 2013, The MS Highway Patrol responded to a report of an accident on U.S. Hwy 49 just South of Pocahontas.
We are told that the incident appeared to be a Hit & Run involving a pedestrian. The victim, Maury Michelle Flint, was discovered lying in the median near the Cock of The Walk Restaurant.
At the time of the accident the vehicle involved did not stay on scene and there were no apparent witnesses.
"Just for whoever did this to leave her there on the side of the highway like an animal, no one deserves that," said Flint's husband Bobby.
Bobby Flint says she leaves behind three children.
"The person who did this they know who they are. I just pray you have a conscience and if it was an accident, come forward. It doesn't matter, it was someone's wife, someone's child," said Bobby Flint.
Flint was last known to have been at a home nearby in Pocahontas shortly before midnight on Friday Dec 20th. Officials believe the accident occurred sometime in the early morning hours of Saturday Dec 21st, before being discovered and reported at approximately 7am on the morning of Saturday Dec 21st.
The family of the victim, as well as the MS Highway Patrol, and CMCS is asking for the public's help in an attempt to identify the vehicle and driver involved in this incident.
