Blood drive to benefit 2-year-old girl

RANKIN COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

There will be a blood drive in Florence on Thursday, January 16 to benefit a 2-year-old girl battling cancer.

Taelyn was recently diagnosed with Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis (LCH).

LCH is the most common of the histiocytic disorders and occurs when the body produces too many immature Langerhans cells.

Langerhans cells are a type of white blood cell that normally help the body fight infection.

O+ is her blood type, but they will take ALL blood types.

The blood drive will be Thursday at Thomasville Grocery from 12-6 p.m.
