Biloxi family wins big in nationwide fitness challenge

Posted: Updated:
BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

The Reed Family, from Biloxi, went to Los Angeles with hopes of beating four other families in a national contest. Now they are on their way back, and bringing home the win.

The Reeds were selected to be one of the top five families in the Boys and Girls Club's fourth annual Triple Play Fit Family Challenge.

The contest, which centers around a family's ability to stay fit, was held nationwide and included more than 200 families. Some of the challenges included an obstacle course, a nutrition game show, and a skit competition.

As part of the grand prize, the family will now receive an all expenses paid vacation to Colorado Springs, Colorado to visit the Olympic training center.

We plan to meet up with the Reeds when they arrive back home in Biloxi. Watch for more on their big adventure later this week on WLOX News and WLOX.com.
