HANCOCK COUNTY, MS (WLOX) -

An accident involving just one car turned into a much bigger mess Monday afternoon when a fire truck responding to the accident overturned.

It happened just before 2pm in the westbound lanes of Interstate 10, near mile marker 11 in Hancock County. No one appeared to be injured.

MS Highway Patrol Spokesman Jason Gazzo said the initial accident caused traffic to come to a sudden stop on I-10. That's what sent a truck from the Bayside Fire Department to go off the roadway and flip. Two firemen were in the truck, but no one was injured.

The right lane of I-10 was blocked, and the Mississippi Department of Transportation expected traffic to be impacted until around 3pm.
