PEARL, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

On Friday, members of the Pearl Police Department's S.W.A.T. Team executed a Narcotics Search warrant on the 500 block of Fox Run Trail.

Officials tell us probable cause for the search warrant stemmed from a traffic stop that occurred earlier in the evening that was conducted by Pearl Police.

Once the search warrant was executed the Pearl Police Department's S.W.A.T. Team rendered five felony drug arrests.

The suspects were booked at the Pearl Police Department. They'll face charges of Possession of Controlled Substance-Methamphetamine and Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute- Methamphetamine.

The offenders were taken to the Rankin County Jail and were given no bond at the time of their arrests.

Chief Ben Schuler said, "Proactive policing is the catalyst that drives the Pearl Police Department, and this is another example of our officers keeping our city safe by following a lead which resulted in five felony drug arrests."
