Multiple crews battled fire in Copiah County

COPIAH COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

It took multiple fire crews to extinguish a brush fire in Copiah County Sunday afternoon.

The fire happened on Sullivan Lane just outside of Crystal Springs.

Officials said someone was handling a cutting torch and an area of grass caught fire.

The fire spread to an abandoned mobile home.

The fire destroyed the mobile home according to the Copiah County EOC.

It took four volunteer fire departments to extinguish the blaze.

At this time we have no official word on what caused the fire.

There were no injuries reported.

    A man was charged with growing thousands of dollars worth of marijuana inside his Ocean Springs home, authorities say.
