VANCLEAVE, MS (WLOX) - The owners of a Vancleave grocery store are picking up the pieces after it caught fire overnight.
Fire crews from the Central Jackson County and Fort Bayou Fire Departments responded to the H.P. Davis Grocery Store shortly before midnight last night.
Fire Chief Mike Belton said crews managed to save about 60 percent of the building though there was smoke damage.
The state fire marshal is coming down Monday to work with the county fire investigator to determine the cause of the fire.
Officials say no one was injured in the blaze.
H.P. Davis Grocery has been a long time fixture in the Vancleave community, and residents there hold it in very sentimental regards.
