YAZOO CITY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

We have new information about the Yazoo City fire that badly burned a pregnant woman and her family Friday night.

Yazoo County Fire Marshal Kenneth Washington said the 30-year-old woman suffered third degree burns over 50% of her body.

She has been flown to a burn center in Atlanta.

The fire at a duplex on west Madison street also injured her 33-year-old husband.

He suffered first and second degree burns.

An 11-month old girl sustained third degree burns to her face and chest.

A second child was not injured.

The names of the victims have not been released.

Residents along West Madison Street said 18-year-old Dwain Pelison and three others entered the home to save the family.

"I went and knocked on the door, didn't nobody answer so I went to beating real hard and the man woke up, he was like 'What's going on, what's going on' and I pointed up and showed him that the house was on fire," said Pelison.

"She came over to my sister's house. It seemed like she was just standing there frantically with her hands shaking with burns all over her body and apparently at that particular time she like lost a finger," said Pelison's aunt and neighbor Sandra Mays.

The other family who lived in the duplex was not injured.

Investigators said the fire appears to have started in the living room.

The cause is still under investigation.
