GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) -

Gulfport Police are searching for the man who robbed the Hancock Bank on Pass Road, just west of 15th Avenue. The robbery occurred just minutes before 5pm Tuesday night.

Police said a man entered the bank wearing a black hoodie-style sweatshirt, a black hat and a black mask. Investigators said he was so covered up, witnesses weren't able to tell much else. He was armed with a knife. And after getting an unknown amount of money from the bank, he ran out and later left in an unknown type of vehicle.

If you have any information that could help police, call the Gulfport Police Department at (228) 868-5959. You can also contact Crime Stoppers at www.mscoastcrimestoppers.com or by calling 1-877-787-5898. Tips can be sent by texting CSTIP plus your message to 274637 (CRIMES).

This is the second time in less than five months that this bank location has been robbed. Police say on August 14, 2013, a partially masked man entered the bank, implied he had a weapon, and demanded money. That investigation is still open.
