Suspect injured while fleeing police in critical condition

CRYSTAL SPRINGS, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Jacory Alford, the man who fled Crystal Springs Police at a traffic stop Tuesday, is in ICU at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in critical condition. 

Police attempted to arrest the 20-year-old when they discovered he didn't have a driver's license. Police say he resisted arrest, shoved an officer and took off on foot.

An officer gave chase and tased Alford, who fell and hit his head on a metal corner post on the carport of a residence. He was airlifted to UMMC.

Alford is facing charges of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, three counts of felony possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest and no  driver's license.
