Moss Point Lady Tigers Ready To Bounce The Competition In The Division 7 5A Tournament

Steven Pater's Moss Point Lady Tigers blitzed the competition in winning the Division 7 "5A" title running off 6 consecutive wins... grabbing the top seed in this week's division tournament at Biloxi high school.

The Lady Tigers are loaded with talent up and down the lineup... led by 6 foot Monique Cowan netting almost 21 points and 12 rebounds per game.Angel Liddel is ripping the nets at a 15 point clip, while 6 foot 4 BranDee Fry is scoring 9 points and leads the Mississippi Coast in rebounding pulling down 13 an outing.

Despite a solid group of players Moss Point is taking it one game at a time knowing that the favorite role can present problems.

Moss Point Head Coach Stephen Pater says, "Its always tough to have the favorite role but you're rather be the favorite than the underdog. We know we've worked hard to get to this point and we know that everybody will be coming after us. Its going to be tough competition. We've got Ocean Springs in the opening round and they have played us extremely well in both games this season. Whenever you have somebody that has their backs to the wall, its always tough to match up against them, especially in an elimination game."

The 23 and 4 Moss Point Lady Tigers open the Division 7 "5A" playoffs Thursday with an ultimate goal.. a trip to Jackson for the "5A" State title.
