Firefighters battle bar fire in Gulfport

GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) -

More than a dozen firefighters responded to a fire at Bubba P's bar in Gulfport around 11 Sunday morning, according to Gulfport fire officials.

Gulfport Fire Battalion Chief Ken Payne said it took 17 firefighters, five units and two command units about 40 minutes to put of the fire.

Payne said the owner of the bar called the Gulfport Fire Department after receiving a call about the fire from the owner's alarm company.

No one was injured and no one was in the building at the time of the fire. Payne said the building has heavy fire and smoke damage inside.

Fire investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
